CEFP Certification
Beyond the EFP Credential level, the Certified Educational Facilities Professional (CEFP) designation denotes the highest level of educational facilities mastery, elevating the credibility of the individual who holds the certification and the institution their certified professional represents.
The CEFP is the advanced standard for the experienced educational facilities professional recognizing mid to senior level professionals. This designation represents superior proficiency in the core competencies and professional strength in educational facilities management.
The exam for the CEFP Certification is experience based and will cover APPAs four core competency areas for facilities professionals:
- General Administration and Management
- Operations and Maintenance
- Energy and Utilities
- Planning, Design and Construction

Study Shows School Cleanliness Affects Learning
Entitled Cleanliness and Learning in Higher Education, the national study of college students was based around the five levels of clean identified in APPA’s Custodial Staffing Guidelines for Educational Facilities.
